I have been reading about the Spanish Inquisition in the Canary Islands.  The following surnames are in my family tree and were accused and/or convicted of being Jews by the Inquisition: Acosta, Aleman, Gonzales, Hernandez, Morales, Ramires, Rodriguez.  I grew up in New Iberia and recognize some family names from there who are also prosecuted as being Jews.  Does anyone have any info on wether or not the Ilenos who came to Louisiana were descentants of Jews?
