The Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana proudly welcomes Dr. Gilbert C. Din as our guest speaker for our March 2008 meeting, which will be held on March 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the State Archives Building on Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. Dr. Din is the author of The Canary Islanders of Louisiana, a book which has been vital to the research of our ancestors. Dr. Din will speak about his work on the book, and his ongoing research regarding the Islenos, including several research trips to the islands. You will not want to miss out on this historical event which will surely be a very exciting and informative afternoon.
